Take the Time to Take a Decent Picture

Once you've decided that you will avoid eBay's stock photos, be sure to take the time to take a decent photograph of your item.

You don't have to have a professional studio to make a professional looking display for your item. Just drape a neutral colored bed sheet over a pile of books and you can prop your item against an appealing background in such a way that the details of the item show up in the photograph.

Pay attention to lighting too, as a shadowy picture will not convince bidders of the authenticity of your item.
